“““Uooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”””
With a war cry, the forces from the different nations crossed the bridge and rushed into the imperial palace. Unsurprisingly, they were intercepted by imperial soldiers that were stationed in the palace. But then again, given that our side was attacking from 8 different spots at once plus the fact that we had the element of surprise, there wasn’t enough of the intercepting imperial soldiers. In a matter of moments, we managed to get inside of the palace.
“This area is now under control of our Gobalt forces!”
“““Uooohhhh!!!”””
Perhaps because they encountered only a few imperial soldiers, the forces from the Gobalt Republic were the first ones to succeed in occupying an area. By the way, in order to make teamwork be easy, each group was mainly composed by a single country’s soldiers.
And among those groups, the one with the highest morale was the one mainly composed of the soldiers from the Loda Kingdom, which had recently been invaded by the empire.
“Today, we wipe the shame of letting the empire invade our nation!”
“Glory be to the Loda Kingdom!”
“““Uooohhhh!!!”””
Despite the fierce resistance from the imperial soldiers, the furious Loda Kingdom soldiers beat down enemy after enemy.
“Damn it, what is with these soldiers!?”
“Are they from the Loda Kingdom!? What are they doing here!?”
The imperial soldiers were unable to understand what was going on. At around that moment, large humanoid weapons emerged from deep within the palace.
“…! We’re saved!”
“Hahahaha! You Loda fools! Now that the Giant Soldiers are here, there’s nothing more you can do!”
The imperial soldiers were celebrating as they shouted so.
“Alright, here we go,”
I was actually in a separate location and had been watching the battlefield in real time only through the Village View function of the Enhanced Map. I was waiting for when the enemy Giant Soldiers showed themselves.
“You ready?”
“All preparations done! We can sortie at any moment!”
The spirited pilots replied so from within the Giant Soldiers that the village’s dwarves produced from scratch. The pilots in question were villagers who were instructed and trained by the pilots we captured.
I—well, as a body double—were to transport our Giant soldiers to the battlefield. Because Giant Soldiers were treated like equipment as far as my Gift was concerned, I was able to transport them via teleportation.
“!? Giant Soldiers!? Where did they come from!?”
As they say, fight fire with fire. The imperial soldiers were all shocked to see our strategy being put into action. Following the strategy, one of our Giant Soldiers readied its magical artillery and aimed at the enemy Giant Soldiers’ legs. Soon enough, a powerful attack emerged from its abdomen.
*DOOOOOONNNNN!!*
One of the enemy Giant Soldiers had its right leg blown off and it fell on the spot with a great thud. It would most likely not be able to continue to fight.
“What’s the meaning of this!?”
“The Giant Soldier got destroy…!?”
“Does…does the enemy have their own Giant Soldier…?”
The reliable Giant Soldiers were the driving force behind the empire’s steady conquest. This time though, the same things were fighting against them. Despair took hold of the soldiers in the vicinity and they lost the will to fight.
Enemy Giant Soldiers were deployed in other locations, so we sent ours there too and they were defeating the enemy Giant Soldiers in quick succession. I had no idea how many were being used to defend the imperial palace, but as long as we kept defeating them, they would run out sooner or later.
By the way, the Giant Soldier was powered by magic power. It required quite a high amount of magic power to be fully charged though. In fact, we could manage to build and power only 10 units for this fight. So, if it turned out that the empire had an infinite number of Giant Soldiers, we might be in trouble. Fortunately though, based on my scan with Village View, there was likely only 7 Giant Soldiers in the palace. The palace was a fairly large place, so I didn’t scan every nook and cranny, but I was fairly confident of that number.
“Looks like the inside of the palace is in chaos. I should probably send the main force now.”
