I tried to close the door, but with the girl in nun’s clothing holding it firmly, it wouldn’t budge an inch. If I pulled on the door with all my might and she did the same, it was easy to see the door breaking. This was likely the hardest I could safely pull the door back.
Even so, I glared at the girl as I stood ready to close the door if she relaxed her grip ever so slightly.
“I-if you don’t step away from the door, I’ll call the police.”
“Please calm down. It seems like there’s been a misunderstanding.”
“A misunderstanding…?”
At the sight of the sister-looking girl’s sad, pleading expression, I unconsciously weakened my pull on the door.
“Yes. May I ask what your opinion on romance between two women?”
“Huh? Well, as long as the people involved are happy…”
I almost answered without thinking, but I stopped myself. She might look normal at a glance, but I was certain it was all part of her trick to make me drop my guard. I recalled a TV show I once saw that featured religion-related scams like this.
“Sorry, but I really am in a hurry. I have plans later.”
“Friendship, sexual attraction, adoration…love can take on many forms. And love is free from shackles, it has to be.”
Damn it, I can’t even talk to her properly. Why did I have to leave my phone in the living room now of all times!? This is exactly the time I should have an authority-figure handle things!
My parents were out of the house at the moment, so I didn’t have anybody to ask to call the cops. And if I did so myself, there was a good chance she would trespass into the house in the meantime.
…wait, I DO have someone to ask!
“Yuri can be an extension of friendship or be an indulgence of one’s carnal desires. Whatever form it might take, modern society must welcome and appreciate them all equally. To give an example, what would you think if you saw a yuri couple of beautiful women?”
“I’d want to get between them and flirt with them.”
“Oh, you want me to beat you up?”
“Hiii”
When I answered without thinking at all, she glared at me quite intensely. Scary was putting it mildly.
Actually, it’s been on my mind since earlier, but this woman…she’s really strong, isn’t she?
Being a half-elf easily told me that she was an Awakened One. Even then though, she had quite a lot of physical strength. Maybe even more than what I had. At that thought, a cold sweat ran down my back. I mean, why was it that such a suspicious person of all people get this much power? People who were more on the side of justice should have that power, not a messed up person like this!
Yes, even if she looked incredibly beautiful and had an awesome figure—especially her chest!—she still seemed like that to me!
“But I’m sure you’re not as shallow as that, deep down. By the way I see it, you’re a knight who holds yuri in high regards…no, I dare say you’re a knight of the yuri order, riding around atop a white horse!”
“Are you high on something…?”
She was scary. I didn’t know why, but I found her scary. Or maybe it was because I couldn’t put a finger on it that I was so scared of her?
Regardless! I have to call the police or maybe some mental institution before this pervert can talk to other people! Before someone actually falls victim to her! I don’t know exactly what they can fall victim to, but still!
“And now, I’ll grant you a baptismal name. Bearer of the white lily…the yuri knight atop a white steed…yes, you shall be [Silver Lily]!!”
“Nope! Call the cops!”
“Right away!”
I purposely didn’t say Layla’s name out loud and only what I wanted her to do. I didn’t want any more of my information to be leaked to the pervert in front me, after all. At the same time, I wanted this pervert to know that the police were coming soon.
Layla appeared behind me and immediately walked toward the phone near the entryway.
“Ghh, how could you Silver Lily!? Why would you betray me!?”
“You’re mistaking me for someone else!”
The suspicious person looked at me with eyes wide open, as though I did something utterly unbelievable. She also bent forward but her grip on the door didn’t get any lighter.
Whatever, as soon as the cops get here, it’s my win anyway!
But just as Layla was about to pick up the phone’s receiver, the phone rang.
Really!? Now!?
“It seems I must leave now, Silver. Until we meet again, guardian knight of yuri! I’m Hanazono Karen; be sure to remember it!”
“Yeah, I’ll tell that to the cops!”
“Farewell!”
And so, the pervert Hanazono something began to run away with so much force, each step made a loud thud. As I watched her retreating figure escape at a speed that was comparable or just a tiny bit slower than my own running speed, I did all that I could to hold myself together. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy at all. Her breasts were amazing already, but her butt, enveloped by that nun-like clothes, was superb as well…!
Regardless of that though, I was still going to report her. She was for sure a dangerous person to have running around.
“I’m sorry, master, but what should we do about this call?”
“Ah, yeah, I’ll take it now.”
I replied so to Layla who was quite flustered in front of the phone. After closing and locking the front door, I then picked up the still-ringing phone.
Geez, who can this caller with such bad timing be? Hopefully, I can end the call quickly and call the cops.
“Hello. This is the Okawa residence.”
<<Hello, this is Togo from the prefectural office. Is this perhaps Kyotaru-kun I’m speaking with?>>
“Oh, Togo-san?”
I knitted my brows upon learning that the call was from someone totally unexpected.
<<Sorry for asking this all of a sudden, but can I meet with you later? There’s something I’d like to discuss with you.>>
“Oh. Well, you see, I have to go to the police station later…”
I began to say so but stopped myself. Thinking about it more carefully, once I report that big-breasted, fake nun, it was likely that I would wind up getting interrogated in detail. I tried to summarize what just happened in my head and it quickly sounded too crazy. I had no confidence I could narrate it well. If I wasn’t careful, they might even think I was pulling a prank or something.
“A nun with elf ears and big boobs came to our house to preach about yuri! She also had frightening strength!”
Yeah, I doubted anyone would really listen to me if I said that. They might if there were multiple other reports, but if mine was the only one, I couldn’t see anyone taking me seriously. They did kinda owe me for the Minotaur incident, but the police departments were known to work independently from each other, a silo mentality if you will. I had respect for the policeman profession, but having faith in it was a different matter.
<<The police? So things aren’t very peaceful over there either, huh>>
“…to tell you the truth, some really weird religious solicitor was here just now. I don’t mind discussing the details, but I don’t think I can explain it all too well…”
<<A religious solicitor? Wait, don’t tell me it’s…>>
“You know something about it?”
I suppose that suspicious person had already made that weird pitch in other places as well.
<<How about we add that to the things we talk about when we meet? I’ve met some people in the police through my line of work. I think I can be of some help.>>
“Oh. Well.”
I thought about it for a moment. Togo-san had skillfully convinced my parents to let me become an adventurer and even seamlessly got my father a new job. By my books, that made him a person I owed a lot to, a benefactor. Moreover, outside of parents, he was the most reliable adult I knew.
My hesitation lasted only for a few seconds.
“My parents should be back from shopping soon, so is it alright if I consulted with them first? After that, then can we…”
I concluded that I should report the incident to my parents first. I mean, with a suspicious person appearing in our neighborhood and remaining at large, I would like my parents to be on guard. I didn’t expect to see that pervert anytime soon, but I did think she might eventually show herself around here.
After I had talked to them, then I could consult with Togo-san over what to do. I was sure both of my parents would like me to consult with him too. With him working in the prefectural office, it was possible that the acquaintances he mentioned were in the prefectural police. Moreover, with him handling it, I was sure the talks would go smoothly.
<<Yes, of course. So, I take it that you’ll be calling me after you’ve talked with your parents? Or would it be better if I called you?>>
“Ah, I think I would prefer it if I were the one to contact you later. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
<<Oh, don’t worry about it. I’m the one who called you out of the blue, after all. In that regard, I’ll be excusing myself first.>>
“Sorry but is it alright to tell you of the suspicious person’s name now?”
<<Oh, yes. Go ahead.>>
“It was a person who claimed to be the Guardian of yuri, whatever that means. She also introduced herself as Hanazono Karen. I don’t know if that’s her real name though.”
<<Ha>>
“As for her appearance, she was a tall elf or maybe half-elf who wore a nun’s clothing. She got away, but because I found her scary, I didn’t give chase.”
<<I…seee…I see…>>
I didn’t know how, but I could tell, even though we were just on a phone call, that Togo-san had a distant look on his face.
Why he did, I didn’t know.
When he ended the call by feebly saying “I’ll be waiting for your call”, I stood there for a good while, confusedly gazing at the phone.

It’s just that the character Hanazono Karen is an eccentric and dangerous individual.
TL note: in case you didn’t know, yuri refers to girl/girl relationships. More importantly for this note, yuri can also mean lily, which is why Kyotaro was given the moniker Silver Lily.
