Shortly after Minister Zerus, the main culprit behind the empire’s reckless invasions, had been taken and detained in the village.
“Luke-sama, I see now what a truly greedy, sinful man I was. Oh, all those people who had suffered all because of my wicked nature…I can only hope to apologize to them.”
…Not much time had passed, yet he had become another person entirely. Apparently, this was because granny volunteered to rehabilitate him.
“Oh, I just thought he seemed worth rehabilitating, eheeheeeheee”
In the conference between the affected nations, it was decided that Minister Zerus would be executed as the greatest war criminal in the empire. His date of execution was still to be determined, however. Until then, he was to be held in custody.
I was of the opinion that there was some significance in him having a change of heart…but obviously, that alone wasn’t enough to overturn his execution.
“Is it because of his [Great Fortune] Gift?”
“I am prepared to be executed anytime. However, until that day comes, I vow to devote myself toward world peace and to you, Luke-sama.”
Hmm? Did he just add “Luke-sama” to world peace just now? Can’t be, right…?
It was also decided that all of the empire’s Giant Soldiers would be entrusted to the village. The affected nations were all united in the idea that the empire should no longer have possession over the Giant Soldiers, but they were not united on the topic of how to distribute the said Giant Soldiers to each of them. In fact, it was liable to cause future conflicts between them.
With destroying the Giant Soldiers not being an option either, they ended up deciding that the village should take care of it in the meantime. Of course, there were concerns about the village running amok, but since we could make Giant Soldiers from scratch, the affected nations apparently concluded that it wouldn’t matter much whether or not they gave us the empire’s Giant Soldiers.
Oh, and it was also decided that the Mecha-dragon would be entrusted to the village as well.
“All things considered, it sure is big…”
I couldn’t help but mutter so as Dona and the dwarves inspected the Mecha-dragon in a park flying over the village.
Much like with the Giant Soldiers, they were studying the mechanisms behind the Mecha-dragon.
Just then though, something about as large as the Mecha-dragon descended toward us.
Huh? It looks like she’s holding something in her mouth…
“Hey, what the heck is thissssssssssss!?”
That large thing transformed itself to resemble a small girl and asked so. It was Dora, the dragon who lived in the monster-infested mountain range.
“Are you here to dine in the village again? Anyway, this is called the Mecha-dragon. It’s a weapon that modeled after dragons.”
“Ohhh, you guys can even make something like that!?”
“Nope. This is something that had been dug up from some ancient ruins.”
Just as I was explaining so to the trembling Dora, Dona began to speak.
“Mhm, I’ve understood the gist of it. Could probably make from scratch soon too. Will work hard to produce many.”
“So you can make it yourself after all!? And you’re saying you can make more than one…waAaaAaa”
If I left the dwarves to their own devices, chances were they would mass produce Mecha-dragons left and right until the village had enough for world domination.
In other words, I must properly keep them in check.
“More importantly, Dora, weren’t you holding something in your mouth earlier? It probably fell over here…Ah, Akane-san!?”
“I found her somewhere near my nest again, so I thought I should bring her here.”
It would seem she had failed once again to cross the mountain range by her own.
“H-hey, are you alright? Ah, are you awake?”
“I failed again…”
“We’ll bring you to the hospital, so please just lie still”
“I…I must commit seppuku!”
“I asked you to just lie still, didn’t I!?”
After I shouted so to Akane-san—who somehow still attempted to commit seppuku despite being in the verge of death already—I let out a large sigh.
“Man, why did you have to fail again…going through this again is quite the headache, so I wish you can succeed soon.”
“I apologize for the trouble…now that it has come to this, the only way I can really apologize is by committing seppuku!!!”
“No, this is actually the headache I’m talking about, you know!?”
