<<Highway (50): a road that allows for swift movement. Can be built to be an elevated structure. Greatly reduces fatigue and also greatly increases one’s traversal speed.>>

<<Reclaimed Land (500): land created by burying rivers or seas.>>

<<Harbor (1,000): a facility for the loading and unloading of ships, as well as for anchorage. Has various services offered depending on the configuration selected. Increases work efficiency. Comes with a ship.>>

<<Fort (2,000): a military defensive facility. Increases morale. Increases recovery rate from fatigue. Increases the effect of medical treatment.>>

<<Large Railway Station (3,000): a large-scale railway station that also has space for commercial buildings. Has multiple platforms for multiple routes. Comes with a train.>>

Upon leveling up, I became able to build even more kinds of facilities.

Highways seemed to be the upgraded version of Roads.

It said I could make elevated Highways too, but in this world where motorized vehicles like cars didn’t exist yet, there might be no need to raise it as only pedestrians and carriages would use it.

As for Reclaimed Land and Harbor, those facilities didn’t look like they would see use in this wasteland village that didn’t have any sea…can these even be considered facilities?

“But a Fort, huh. What great timing.”

“Dona, have you figured out how the Giant Soldiers work?”

“Mhm, completely.”

When I went to the workshop where Dona worked, I quickly noticed the dismantled pieces Giant soldier just scattered there on the ground.

“We’ve even begun building one from scratch.”

“Huh!? Already!?”

“Mhm. This way.”

In the area where Dona guided me to was something that was almost looked like the original Giant Soldiers.

“It’s completed already?”

“Not yet. Still have test runs. What matters is not the appearance, but its movements.”

“I see…”

With Dona at the center, many dwarves worked together to make this Giant Soldier. They were all highly eager to reproduce the weapon that their ancestors originally created.

“Mm, we’ll try to make it move now.”

Apparently, those test runs were about to begin.

The pilots for the Giant Soldiers were also called here.

“A-amazing…I can’t believe you succeeded, and in such a short amount of time too…”

“Look, even the cockpit’s like the real thing.”

They were all astonished.

The most veteran among the four boarded our prototype Giant Soldier.

“Alright, I’m booting it up!”

As soon as the pilot said so, a whirring sound—the sound the Giant Soldier made as it booted up—echoed through the workshop.

“““I-it moved!?”””

“Mm, there’s still more to test.”

When the pilot operated a handlebar, the Giant Soldier started to move forward.

Next, the Giant Soldier was made to move its arms and also change the direction it was facing. It looked a bit clumsy, but it was unmistakably moving.

“M-magnificent…as to be expected of dwarves…”

“Despite our nation spending years to do the same, we still haven’t…but they…”

Based on the reactions of the other pilots who were watching some distance away, things seemed to be going great.

But then, Dona shook her head.

“Not good enough. It’s movements are horrible. The movements on the originals were much smoother.”

Apparently, this prototype was still far from her ideals.

The test run was put to an end soon after, and she and the other dwarves gathered and began discussing among themselves.

As for the pilots who were pretty much left out of the loop…

“…everything our nation knew about how the Giant Soldiers worked was kept top secret, even from us, yet here…”

“To begin with, only a very limited number of people were allowed to research the Giant Soldiers.”

“If I eavesdropped on those researchers back home like this, I would almost certainly have been executed.”

“I mean, even if I do my best to listen in, it’s not like I’ll understand a lick of it.”

From then on, the dwarves made countless revisions on their prototype. And a few days later, I was called on to be shown the fruit of their labor.

“Wait, there’s 10 of them!?”

“Mm, we made many.”

“Err, so I take it you’ve fixed how their movements?”

“Mm. These won’t lose to the originals.”

Never mind bringing their version of the Giant Soldier to completion, they made 10 units already.

“We’re also in the middle of mass producing them in the factory.”

“You’re even mass producing it, huh.”

“Mhm. But we’re limited by our stock of high-purity adamantite.”

Adamantite was considered to be one of the world’s toughest metals. And befitting that status, it was also rare. We could mine for it in the depths of Ahri’s dungeon, but even then, we only rarely got some.

“Considering our stock, we plan to make a total of 20.”

When Dona said those words, the pilots grew noisy.

“That’s more than the number of Giant Soldiers the empire has…”

“And they did that in such a short amount of time…”

    Thank you!

I bet they are going to have Gundam racing or something like that.
It’s not like they have anybody to fight with anyway.
